HR Specialist at Down to Earth

Job Summary

The HR Specialist supervises the HR Assistant and assists the HR Manager with HR administration and the day-to-day operations of the human resources department including onboarding (orientations), training, safety, biweekly payroll preparation, benefits administration, and other administrative functions. This is a full-time position is 5 days per week Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm which includes a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break; free parking is also provided onsite.

Qualifications

Associate degree or higher. A degree in Human Resources is preferred.

A certification from SHRM or HRCI in Human Resources is preferred.

Minimum 6 months previous Human Resources experience.

Proficient with Windows computers and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and other computer applications. Must be computer literate, know how to navigate through multiple different programs and software, and possess ability to perform basic computer tasks such as copy, paste, create and rename folders or files, attach files to an email, download attachments from an email, select multiple files at once, drag and drop files into specified folders, etc.

Proficient and experienced with payroll and other HR computer applications.

Exhibits high standards of ethics, honesty, trust, accountability & respect always.

Enthusiasm and commitment to the position and the company.

Able to take direction in a positive, proactive manner.

Friendly, courteous manner in dealing with a variety of situations and personalities.

Effective communication skills (including listening and speaking/writing) with all levels of company staff.

Able to effectively multi-task.

Able to read, write, and speak English well.

Able to accurately use basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

Dependable and able to meet deadlines.

Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

Computer literate (Microsoft Office, navigating Windows based computer, working in the Cloud, typing, etc.)

Pay Rate: $25 per hour (we also offer COLA raises in 2024)
