Responsibilities

Program Overview

Youth Villages’ Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems. Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings. We have three different types of facilities—Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes. Located in Tennessee and Georgia, all of these facilities utilize the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed).

Position Overview

Receives, stocks, and distributes all food including donations and USDA commodities for the campus according to established Nutrition Services procedures.

Maintains a clear, neat food service area with all products properly organized according to the Nutrition Services storage procedures.

Completes required reports and documents in an efficient and timely manner

Attends inspections by regulatory inspectors; notes and corrects deficiencies

Performs annual inventory of kitchen and dining room equipment

Assists in planning and purchasing supplies for special meals and events

Orders food from vendors once a week to accommodate menu and food orders

Orders supplies for the laundry and kitchen

Supervises and assists cooks

Fill in for cooks when needed

Observes food preparation and kitchen maintenance

Qualifications

Requirements

High School diploma or GED

basic knowledge of quantity food cookery and knowledge of kitchen equipment

or one to three months experience and/or training

or equivalent combination of education and experience.
