- Responsible for recommending database solution by defining, integrating, and upgrading a comprehensive architecture to support applications, platforms, and databases.
- Responsible for Maintaining database by determining structural requirements and developing and installing solutions.
- Responsible for performance, security, and availability of databases.
- Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems and advanced technical support for database related project activities with emphasis on root cause analysis
- Provides technical escalation expertise for database system problems
- Participate in design and code reviews. Configure and tune databases and operating system software to ensure optimum performance and resource utilization
- Responsible for MySQL instances in both InnoDB Cluster & NDB clusters and also in non-clustered environments.
- Prepare documentations and specifications
- Responsible for common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.

- Minimum 5+ years working with MySQL technology. Certified MySQL DBA is a plus
- Minimum of 5+ years working in IT development and/or technical support
- Strong proficiency in MySQL database management, preferably with experience using both Percona & Oracle enterprise editions.
- Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM
- Experience in implementing a MySQL High Availability
- Experience in the installation, configuration, and upgrading of MySQL software and related products
- Working knowledge of InnoDB cluster, group replication and NDB cluster.
- Working knowledge of performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Experience in planning growth and changes (capacity planning)
- Working knowledge of designing and implementing database replication strategies
- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
- Working knowledge of writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Working Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler
- Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases

- Bachelor's Degree. Computer Science/Technical equivalent experience
