Title: Kitchen Manager
Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced kitchen manager to lead our culinary team and manage the day-to-day operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. The kitchen manager will be responsible for overseeing kitchen staff, managing inventory, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring the overall success of the culinary operation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
- Plan and organize food preparation and cooking activities to ensure an efficient workflow
- Monitor food production to ensure consistent quality and adherence to recipes and standards
- Manage inventory and food supplies, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining appropriate stock levels
- Oversee kitchen sanitation and food safety standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a positive work environment
- Collaborate with management to develop menus, create new dishes, and optimize kitchen operations for cost efficiency
- Maintain kitchen equipment and facilities, coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed
- Implement and uphold kitchen policies and procedures, including cleanliness, hygiene, and safety protocols
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping.
Requirements A+, but not all necessary
- Proven experience as a kitchen manager or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen management
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, with relevant certifications (e.g., ServSafe)
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and technology, including inventory management systems
- Degree or certification in culinary arts or hospitality management is a plus
