Cybersecurity Analyst - Data Protection – Fully Remote

SUMMARY:The

Cybersecurity Data Protection Analyst is responsible for:designing, developing, and maintaining secure data environments. We intend to make data reliable, governed, secure and available for analytics within the organization. As part of a team this role will be responsible for data security management with a broad range of activities like data governance, data security, and data reporting. We are also forward looking and plan to bring innovations like data mesh and data fabric into our ecosystem of tools and processes.The role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and enhancements to data security in all forms from O365 data protection and data loss protection, file-based data protection, application and databases, data lakes, and enterprise data platforms. The development of governance and privacy protection of the information along with securing integrations and data flows is critical to this role.This position will serve our Corporate Division, located in Sandy Springs, GA. This role can be located in a major remote anywhere in the US.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Design, develop and maintain data security models.
  • Develop the various data transformation rules and data modeling capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Data Analyst, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers to identify and transform data for ingestion, exploration, and modeling with the focus of security.
  • Work with data governance team and implement security into the process for data quality checks and maintaining security in the data catalogs
  • Understand and apply concepts like data lake, data warehouse, lake-house, data mesh and data-fabric where relevant with security being paramount.
  • Be familiar with data models for cloud data warehouses.
  • Understand and be able to use different databases like Relational, Document, Graph and Key/Value.
  • Analyze data using SQL.
  • Work as part of an agile team.
  • Provide regular data protection-related training of regulations and company procedure updates to staff.
  • Draft policies and standard operating procedures related to privacy and data storage.
  • Create technical documentation as needed.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity.
  • 7+ years of IT technical experience in some discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant data security experience.
  • Strong understanding of MS Data Protection to include Azure Information Protection.
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams.
  • Proven project planning and management experience.

HOW TO STAND OUT:
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information systems management, or related field.
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • High technical aptitude.
  • Able to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, engineers, business teams) and external subject matter experts.
  • Great presentation and communication skills.
  • Advanced certifications in data protection, EDP, data lakes, MS IP, and related technologies
  • Certifications in ITIL and/or PMP.
