VPK Teacher

Requirements:

Must be energetic and love working with young children.

Experience in Early Childhood.

Must be able to use a computer, and have data entry skills.

Must be able to pass FDLE level 2 background screening.

Must be able to obtain Physical /TB to commence employment

Must have data entry skills

Be able to use I-pad to take pictures and enter child observations

Must have basic computer knowledge: lesson plans are digital.

Have an understanding of working with an inclusive program-children with special needs.

Have an understanding of developmentally appropriate development and how children grow and learn.

Education Requirements: Must have Active and Current

DCF Staff credential

DCF 45 Child Care Introductory Training Requirements

DCF Required pre-hire courses ( if you do not have we can do a professional development plan to complete.)

DCF Required School Readiness courses ( if you do not have we can do a professional development plan to complete.)

Pediatric CPR/First Aid

Higher Degree in Early Childhood Education or Related field with at least 18 credits in Early Childhood Education or with NDCA or equivalent

Language

Speak and read English and understand Spanish

Knowledgeable with Teachstone CLASS scoring system tool.

Knowledgeable with Pyramid Model.

Head Start Knowledgeable with HighScope Curriculum

Responsibilities:

Educating children about fundamental concepts, such as colors, letters, numbers, and shapes.

Encouraging social interactions between children and improving their self-esteem.

Engaging in creative methods of learning, such as arts and crafts, supervised play, and storytelling.

Planning a comprehensive curriculum to address early childhood development needs.

Instilling a sense of order and discipline in the classroom.

Monitoring free time on the playground.

Ensuring the classroom is a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Preparing for lessons by gathering materials and setting up workstations.

Communicating with parents to better understand the children's home lives and psyches.

Writing up reports for parents on each child's developmental
