The City’s Information Technology Services department seeks an individual to join our team to assist with implementing, and supporting software applications with the primary one being an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. The ideal candidate would have experience with object oriented programming, an understanding of client-server software architecture and other aspects of administering, upgrading, and enhancing enterprise business software.

This is advanced professional, technical, and administrative work of more than average difficulty in research, design, evaluation, administration, and implementation of software solutions; recommends software for meeting business needs; leads software upgrade initiatives; and collaborates with staff external to the immediate Application Services Team as well as vendors. This position will have a focus in maintaining and supporting business applications.

This job classification is in Management Category III for benefits purposes, which includes Six (6) additional Management Vacation days per calendar year and a monthly vehicle allowance of $250.00.   • Participates in various aspects of software application administration, software support and maintenance of software
  • Develops and deploys scripts and tools to include automating and facilitating workflows
  • Develops scripts and tools to access and manipulate data
  • Coordinates response to technology incidents and communicates response progress to customers and other information technology team members
  • Provides after hours technology support as needed
  • Develops cost-benefit analyses and statements
  • Performs analysis and recommends purchases of new technology software, hardware, and peripherals
  • Makes recommendations for improvements in information systems methodologies and procedures
  • Coordinates with outside vendors and City customer departments to ensure information technology initiatives are completed
  • Develops end user training plans and conducts training
  • Manages or coordinates technology initiatives as assigned
  • Stays abreast of developments in the technology field
  • Performs related work as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Specific to the Application Services Division:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience managing or administering technology related systems.
  • Additional qualifying experience or completion of coursework at an accredited college or university in a job-related field, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience or education.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid State of Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee’s Department Head will determine who will be required to work.
