Roofing Production Manager

The Production Manager will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and buildout of the Construction Contractor's pipeline of sold projects. You will be working with over a dozen work crews performing various tasks in the areas of demolition, construction, and punch out. Top Management skills are a necessity as you will have a staff of permit and material ordering clerks, project supervisors, and customer service representatives to handle the logistics of building out over 50 projects per month. Each project needs to be monitored to maintain compliance with contract terms and company standards for quality and safety. This job demands outstanding communication skills to work with field personnel and office staff in monitoring the progress of every project from contracting to final collection.

You will be the leader on every project, providing sound technical advice and information and will identify risks and issues and recommends corrective action.

Key responsibilities:

Review contracts for accuracy; maintain accurate and complete job files including permits, drawings, specifications, material orders, inspections, and work photos.

Conduct weekly project meetings to monitor project status, schedule, discuss problems, and resolve issues accordingly; identifying progress delays and recommend appropriate corrective measures to mitigating delays and maintaining the progress schedule.

Document discrepancies, code violations, improper materials or techniques in the application of materials, substandard or poor-quality workmanship; maintain schedules on various aspects of ongoing daily activities to identify and mitigate project slippage and coordinate project phasing.

Keep thorough records of all construction related matters to assist in conflict resolution.

Maintain an inventory of materials, supplies and equipment and monitors the quantity of materials used in the construction of the project.

Assist in the documentation of construction contract changes (issues proposal request, preparing cost estimates, reviewing cost proposals, preparing change orders.

Perform weekly Safety Inspection monitoring and prepare Safety Inspection Reports.

Maintain list(s) of observed defects and omissions. Prepare inspection punch lists and coordinate resolutions of punch list items

Submit daily reports indicating work completed, work in progress with estimated completion dates, work scheduled and outstanding work

Review contractor’s cost breakdown and all submittals on contractor’s proposed equipment and materials; review contractor’s submissions on cost breakdown and make recommendations for approval or disapproval

Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications needed to be successful in this role:

Degree in Construction Management or Extensive Experience in running a successful contractor operation.

A minimum of 5 years of construction management experience (both vertical and horizontal), experience with observing and inspecting construction work is required.

Experience in contract documents, submittals, and considerable overlap with other construction trades, i.e. engineering, mechanical, electrical, etc.

Experience working with roofing projects highly preferred.

Current OSHA certification preferred

Proficient in using Microsoft Office suites.

Strong communications skills in English both written and oral.

Must lawfully reside in the United States and has a clean driver’s license.
