Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant w/ Cosmetic Dermatology or Plastic Surgery Experience Preferred

38-40 hours, Salary to be reviewed.

We are looking for a professional with experience in cosmetic procedures with a happy, great attitude that is a team player and would like to work at a high-end cosmetic dermatology practice.

Ability to work well with physicians, and ARNP by anticipating their needs in regard to patient treatment and having everything prepared "ahead of time" for providers next patient

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Duties

Escorts patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times and priority as deemed by front desk

Obtains short history and vital signs as required by patient's chief complaint. Obtains or updates medication list if necessary

Sets up exam room according to scheduled procedure or anticipate physicians needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely

Having everything ready for Provider and patient BEFORE they ENTER the room for treatment

Treat all patients in a professional and courteous "5 Star Concierge" manner

Review schedules daily to coordinate best use of the day

Responsible for assisting the physician with patient care including obtaining history and chief complaint; assisting with procedures, biopsies, cryo and select surgery & laser procedures

Patient education on treatment plans and medication

Calling patients "post treatment" to check on them. Providing pre and post operative forms and all forms necessary

Responsible for taking excellent photographs before every "cosmetic procedure" and inputting into their digital charts

Nursing procedures, such as suture removal, dressing changes, and completion of pathology and lab requisition documents

Educates patient as required after physician establishes the treatment plan

Ensures that the patient understands the treatment plan, understands the proper use of their medications, and understands their responsibility for compliance with the treatment plan prior to leaving the office

Straightens and cleans exam rooms after patient visits

Provides clinical staff with all completed documents for data entry

Stocks all exam rooms and clean rooms and lab

Performs all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization

Order supplies needed

Performs other duties and tasks as needed, including assisting with front desk operations, scheduling, and patient check-out responsibilities.

Other Job Duties will include assisting with the following:

1. Coordinate and conduct research protocols in a manner that ensures quality, consistency, timeliness, accuracy and patient safety.

2. Perform appropriate research protocol procedures in accordance with GCPs and internal SOPs.

3. Maintain frequent face-to-face, written and telephone contact with various persons involved in the study, including but not limited to the subjects, doctors, pharmaceutical sponsors.

4. Possess high-level working knowledge and understanding of the protocol, including requirements of patient eligibility, meeting enrollment goals, visit schedule, assessments and lab procedures, drug accountability, and maintenance of regulatory documents, as well as case report form, informed consent, source documentation, patient diary (when applicable), and study medication(s) for the assigned research study.

5. Schedule and oversee all subject visits on assigned protocols.

6. Facilitate pre-study, initiation, monitoring and close-out visits with the pharmaceutical representative.

7. Organize study documents that are complete, current, and filed accurately.

8. Review, file, and respond to all study specific documents, correspondence, and requests.

9. Manage drug accountability and study supplies.

10. Ensure the informed consent process is appropriately implemented.

11. Create and review study-specific source documents.

12. Cultivate professional relationships with physicians, patients, sponsors, CRAs, investigators, and IRBs.

13. Hold a supportive role in handling daily activities within a research team.
