IS Senior Engineer - Firewall Policy Automation - Remot

I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers.

• design, develop and maintain automation solutions for network security using DevOps and GitOps practices,
• develop and maintain scripts to automate network security tasks such as: firewall rule creation and audit configuration,
• participate in security and compliance audits, assessments, and remediation efforts to ensure Publix is meeting all regulatory requirements,
• develop security compliance metrics for senior management,
• provide off hours and participate in an on-call rotation.

• must have a bachelors degree in management information systems, computer science, or equivalent analytical discipline, or equivalent experience,
• must have at least 2 years experience with various scripting/programming languages such as Python or Powershell,
• must have at least 2 years experience with developing automation scripts using Restful APIs,
• experience with CI/CD Pipelines and Azure Dev Ops Tools,
• experience with provisioning and configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible,
• identify automation opportunities and implement solutions to improve productivity,
• strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• knowledge of network and security technologies like Tufin, VMware Distributed firewalls and/or Palo Alto firewalls,
• experience with VMWare products such as NSX-T, VCenter and VRNI,
• 1 years of experience with Publix,
• experience with compliance and regulatory security requirements (SOX, PCI, HIPAA),
• experience with hybrid public/private cloud, micro-segmentation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security technologies.
