Handy Man/Grounds Keeper

We are looking for a skilled, experience and hard-working Handyman/Groundskeeper to maintain the inside of each cottage as well as the grounds and common areas.

Job Responsibilities:

Respond to guests requests for maintenance services, including replacing air filters, installing new locks, and troubleshooting smoke detectors.

Repair minor plumbing issues, i.e. replacing toilet tank parts, and small electrical systems in the cottages as needed.

Able to replace ceiling fans

Respond to requests from property managers/owners with a sense of urgency.

Ability to google and troubleshoot problems while coming up with solutions for historic properties.

Maintain landscape and garden areas by planting, trimming trees and bushes, fertilizing flowers and other plants while ensuring the walkways remain safe for the guests .

Perform light excavation, using shovels, picks and other tools to dig trenches and level ground

Pick up and remove trash, leaves, weeds and debri from the property and dispose of it appropriately on a daily basis

Clean exterior of buildings, windows as needed to say free of the salt air

Contributes to the team, facilitates good guest interactions, exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others with who there is contact.

Performs general maintenance such as making simple repairs to buildings and equipment.

Moves furniture and equipment, delivers supplies, stores supplies and runs errands to hardware stores

Ability to safely operate power tools

Job Skills and Qualifications:

At least one year experience in Handyman skills, Landscaping or groundskeeping

Experience with plumbing and electrical systems required

Able to work in a mix of outdoor conditions

Ability to work independently as well as with a small crew

Knowledge of irrigation, trenches and sprinkler systems a plus

Able to communicate effectively with staff and guests at the resort

Must have own transportation

Smartphone or equivalent

Own tools are a plus but not a requirement

Ability to work 20- 25 hours a week - including weekends and some Holidays

English language proficiency

Frequent bending, kneeling require as well as lifting objects up to 50 lbs

Must be 18 years of age

Flexible morning hours/ Saturday's required
