Edmonson Electric, the premier residential electrical contractor in Tampa Bay is looking for an experienced Director of Construction at our Ft Myers Branch.

Job Summary:
Ensuring that all processes and procedure are being implemented as to company policy. Running the respective branch
in all aspects in conjunction with your management team and personnel. Forecasting future needs for the company,
including but not limited to office personnel, field personnel, warehouse employees etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Overseeing all aspects of supervision throughout the branch. Including, but not limited to clerical, supervisors, branch
managers, service managers, employees etc.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Cover for Branch Managers in their absence
Travel to remote branches
Review applications & resumes for all positions at all branches
Schedule & conduct interviews
Evaluate & communicate need for positions to be filled
Review Purchasing Managers material report
Locate & forward invoices to Purchasing Manger
Verify, confirm & follow up on all invoices from Purchasing Manager’s material report
Track & update spreadsheet for number of jobs per super, branch & company
Monitor spreadsheet for work load & adjust subdivision assignments if necessary or hire additional staff if needed
Communicate van needs for each branch to Fleet Manager
Approve all invoices to be paid for branches
Verify work completed & company paid for signed off invoices
Meet with all supers weekly on their TH Services, track & update their TH Services spreadsheets
Follow up on and ensure all TH Services are installed in accordance with the Director of Operations guidelines
Schedule all underground work for all multifamily installs at branches
Delegate scheduling of subcontractors if we are unable to meet a date on a scheduled multifamily underground install
Assist billing department with reaching out to VPs of Construction to complete out dated purchase orders
Create spreadsheet, follow up on all outdated invoices & verify POs completed, notify billing department when
complete
Evaluate office staff assignments, delegate tasks & discuss need to hire additional staff with leadership team
Handle escalated issues from branches and resolve issues in an expedited manner
Track & follow up on back ordered material
Work with Warehouse Manager to ensure warehouses are stocked appropriately
Work with Warehouse Manager to track down material deliveries and confirm delivery dates
Work with Warehouse Manager to locate back ordered material and confirm delivery dates
Assist Branch Managers & Supervisors with fixtures issues (locating, following up on, & tracking deliveries, purchase
orders & selection sheets)
Communicate, distribute, & post important policy or spec changes to all staff at all branches
Monitor Branch Managers, Field Supervisors, warehouse & office staff to ensure employees remain productive
Review OT report & communicate with Branch Managers & Field Employees the company’s over time policies,
discipline employees if necessary
Review all back charges, discuss with Branch Managers, Field Supervisors & Field Employees, follow up on & verify
crews are back charged if necessary, discipline crews if needed
Review all red tags, discuss with Branch Managers, Field Supervisors & Field Employees, follow up on & verify crews
are back charged if necessary, discipline crews if needed
Confirm sub-contractors & the service department receive the inspection log daily
Communicate any traffic violations received & discipline the offending crews
Handle all disciplinary action for all branches (terminations and write ups)
Assist subcontractors and crews with any payroll issues, communicate with payroll to resolve the issues
Follow up on and verify crews have uniforms & terminated employees are removed from the Cintas invoice
Follow up on & verify all issues via e mail that I am copied on are resolved, if I do not see that a super or manager has
responded in a timely manner, reach out to them to verify & confirm the issue has been resolved
Establish the following guidelines, follow up on & confirm guidelines are being followed:
o Not responding to an e mail, is below the expectation
o An ok, got it, will do, 10-4, response is meeting the expectation
o Responding, coming up with & sharing your plan on how to solve the issue or make things happen, & following
through, is exceeding the expectation.
Attend all required meetings with builders or customers
Assist Field Supervisors & Branch Managers with complex issues (generators, wells, commercial installs, permitting,
etc.)
Assist staff with PC, tablet or printer issues
Schedule HVAC maintenance at Venice.
Notify landlord of any issues that require their attention & schedule repair if needed
Approve or deny & schedule Branch Managers & Field Supervisors time off
Attend continuing education seminars & encourage employees to do so also
Locate & forward take off issues to estimating
Communicate with & ensure our service department is meeting our commitments to our customer’s turnaround time
regarding scheduling
Shift staff to other branches if additional support is needed
Communicate daily with Branch Managers regarding workload & schedule adherence
Review & discuss pulling material errors with Warehouse Managers & staff
Ensure employee list spreadsheet is updated & accurate
Draft & deliver all employee reviews
Ensure Field Supervisor subdivision spreadsheet is updated & accurate for each branch
Follow up on & ensure Field Supervisors are getting their rough and trim paperwork to the Branch Managers in a timely
manner
Ensure internal mail flows to all branches daily
Created digital Rough & Trim walk list, safety check list & job readiness report
Created Manager & Field Supervisor schedule to assist with training & developing employees
Continue to develop and grow each branch by thinking outside of the box & solving problems to allow the branches to
be more productive, accurate & efficient
Verify & ensure crew list & service crew lists are sent by the Branch Managers to the Field Supervisors daily, digitally
file & save spreadsheets
Continue to be relentless in driving the company’s vision of building a dream with every task & interaction with
employees, leadership team & customers
Ensure employees are dressed appropriately, safe & prepared to work
Ensure employees are parking in approved locations at the branches & do not interfere with neighboring businesses
Regularly remind all staff of our expectations, vision & hold them accountable
Collect, digitally save, file & distribute power layouts to supers and managers
Create and follow through on action plans to resolve internal issues
Work with the Leadership Team to grow, improve the quality of the company, & making the dream a reality
Work with Warehouse Managers to ensure fixture deliveries received that we do not release are delivered within the
appropriate time frame, refuse if necessary
Communicate with regularly & develop subcontractors installs
Share best practices & develop staff
Ride & sit with Field Supervisors to help them & show them how they can succeed & become more efficient
Ensure cork boards with job cards are managed accurately & efficiently
Ensure pallets to not pile up at warehouses, contact electric supply when necessary to have them removed
Work with billing department and Field Supervisors to ensure all jobs are billed & billed correctly
Assist Managers, Supervisors, or Service with dispatching or rerouting crews in the event an emergency arrives
Review and submit Pay sheets for Venice. Assist with Ft. Myers with any payroll issues when needed.
Establish & maintain open lines of communication with staff to be involved in & resolve issues that prevent them from
being successful

Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be proficient at multi-talking
Ability to foresee possible issues and address before they come larger than they need to.
Good at delegating job tasks and follow up ensuring jobs are completed.
Must be a people person, able to communicate clearly and effectively to trade partners, builders, employees etc.
Proficient on computer (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
Ability to read situations while creating an effective plan to get jobs completed as quickly and safely as possible.
Ability to reprimand employees for insubordination etc while following company policies and best practices.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must have clean driving record.
