The Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing the collection, storage, and interpretation of data for businesses. Their duties include the clustering, categorization, and visualization of data as well as writing reports and summaries. Reporting directly to the VP of Risk and Analytics, this person will support our data-driven decision-making process here at FlexShopper. This is a full-time onsite position which can be based either in our Boca Raton, FL or Atlanta, GA office.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Quantitative Data Modeling:
- Works directly with various multi-disciplinary areas to identify and analyze potential risks, rewards, and opportunities that exist within FlexShopper's operating landscape
- Works with leadership to communication, create, develop, execute, and maintain data models that accurately analyze and represent risk exposure of a given enterprise risk
- Selects Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) based on given risk drivers and root causes. Establishes benchmarks to generate insights, identify trends and aberrations
- Accurately documents work products to perform data and risk/reward impact analyses
- Assist development of statistical and machine learning models to solve business problems and derive actionable business insights
- Works together with leaders and all stakeholders to effectively visualize the data analysis for use by institutional leadership in strategic decision-making
- Responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining reports and/or dashboards in a data visualization tool such as PowerBI or Tableau
- Assists in the development and implementation of efficient tools, which enhance Flex Shoppers operational framework
- Coordinates with appropriate stakeholders to acquire data for analyses
- Establishes and performs data collection and quality assurance processes to accurately track risks and issues
- Automates data collection and aggregation
- Aggregates key metrics across the company, corporate risk services, line of business liaisons, and other risk partners to update risk profile dashboards on a continuous basis
- Creates records for new metrics (i.e., descriptions, metric owner, and linkage to risks) and properly archive retired metrics
- Undergraduate degree and/or graduate degree in a STEM discipline (especially Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics) required
- At least two years financial industry experience preferred
- Creates strong partnerships with team members throughout the organization
- Presents findings to all levels of leadership and has superb communication skills, both written and verbal
- Answers complex analysis-related questions in a public setting
- Creates clear documentation of standard operating procedures and best practices
- Researches and recommends best practices, tools, and methodologies for ongoing improvement
- Advocates Security, Information Privacy, and Risk Management policies, practices, and procedures
- Solid written and oral communication skills, combined with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in analytical and/or statistical software (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Python)
- Experience using R or Python for modeling and data analysis preferred
- Experience in code versioning using GitHub or similar preferred
- Understanding of machine learning, predictive modeling, math, and statistics preferred
- Communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to influence, persuade and educate others based on data science expertise
