CONSTRUCTION/PLUMBING WAREHOUSE & DELIVERY PERSON

Position Overview: The Construction/Plumbing Warehouse and Delivery Person plays a critical role in supporting construction projects by managing warehouse operations and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment to job sites. This position requires a combination of organizational skills, attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively both in a warehouse environment and on the road.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Management:

Receive, inspect, and store construction materials, tools, and equipment in an organized manner.

Maintain accurate inventory records and track stock levels to ensure availability for upcoming projects.

Prepare materials for delivery by accurately picking and packing items according to project specifications.

2. Delivery Operations:

Load and unload materials and equipment onto delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.

Plan delivery routes to optimize time and fuel efficiency while considering traffic and weather conditions.

Drive delivery vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans) to transport materials to construction sites, following traffic rules and safety guidelines.

Deliver materials to designated locations within specified timeframes and ensure they are unloaded properly.

3. Material Handling:

Ensure materials are securely loaded and strapped down to prevent damage during transportation.

Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move heavy items within the warehouse and during loading/unloading processes.

Inspect materials for quality and quantity before loading and after unloading to identify any discrepancies or damage.

4. Safety and Maintenance:

Adhere to all safety regulations, both while working in the warehouse and driving on the road.

Perform regular maintenance checks on delivery vehicles, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition.

Report any vehicle maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure safe and reliable transportation.

5. Communication:

Maintain effective communication with construction site supervisors and colleagues to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely updates on any changes or issues.

Obtain necessary signatures and documentation for delivered materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Prior experience in warehouse management, material handling, and/or delivery operations preferred.
