The Senior Buyer assures the procurement and inventory management of high technology or life sciences production and/or non-manufacturing materials, equipment and/or services in accordance with supply chain optimization and management objectives.

Primary Functions:

  • Collaboration with stakeholders as the Supply Operations liaison, ensuring timely and effective day-to-day communication in areas such as production and planning priorities, material supply problem resolution.
  • Provide representation and leadership for Supply Operations in support of stakeholder requirements, applying strong Procurement knowledge & SAP skills.
  • Purchase critical/complex items to ensure availability of high-impact products
  • Work with suppliers and ensures continuous supply of critical materials, negotiates pricing for products and/or services, coordinates and schedules delivery.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure optimal inventory levels to support on-time delivery. Provide forecasts to key suppliers and 12-month BPOs.
  • Evaluate and select qualified suppliers based on competitive bids; terms and conditions, quality, quantity, reliability, and ability to meet delivery schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance; select/analyze the supply base and support Commodity Manager to develop and implement commodity plans.
  • Conduct TQRDC reviews, as required.
  • Coordinates material sourcing for new product introduction (NPI) projects, in collaboration with R&D. Establishes and manages supplier relationships including negotiating contracts and prices, and monitoring supplier performance.
