Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on diesel equipment
- Repair or replace faulty parts and components
- Use power tools and specialized equipment to complete repairs
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Skills:
- Proficiency with power tools and equipment used in diesel mechanics
- Knowledge of transmission systems and how to diagnose and repair issues
- Familiarity with air brake systems and the ability to repair them
- HVAC knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing heating and cooling systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, including diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding them
- Brake repair expertise, including replacing brake pads, rotors, and calipers
