IT Systems Administrator / SQL Database Administrator (Office Position)

Position Summary:

Multifaceted role that encompasses all aspects of the management of technology including:

Hardware equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, user interface, and modernization

Software database maintenance including SQL uploads, software program integrations, report writing, and software upgrades.

Expertise working with and configuring LANs, WANs, VPNs, intranet, communication and telecommunication systems, and peripheral hardware and software.

Specific duties:

Ability to operate under minimal supervision.

Working technical competency in the following supported platforms: Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Programmer/Administrator, IIS, Windows Server 2019, Windows 10 /11, Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange online, including, Networking/firewalls/vulnerability assessment.

Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, installs, and performs testing activities on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication and computer network systems.

Responsible for installation of new computer equipment including routine installation or modification projects with software and hardware integration.

Assist with creating user interfaces, custom reporting, testing and training.

Devise ways to add new functionality to existing computer systems and processes.

Research emerging technologies for possible integration to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

Explore integration with customer requirements on portals and data transfers.

Develop templates for pricing and warranty billings, by customer driven contracts.

Create reporting that will measure profitability by line of business, customer base, and overall productivity.

Work with other departments to evaluate costing and implementation of new potential product and business lines.

Document system reports and processes and incorporate documentation into training guides for departmental and functional use.

Monitor database integrity to ensure security, backups, upgrades, and data consistency are maintained.

Responsible for the importing and exporting of data functions to ensure seamless integration of data and to meet specialized reporting needs.

Responsible for the ongoing infrastructure and provides management with recommendations within the budgetary guidelines provided.

Providing technical support in an end user support role.

Special projects as assigned; this will make up approximately 35% of the job duties.

Requirements:

This is a position that will need excellent communication skills as well as proficiency in excel, access, and experience with extracting data from numerous databases.

Must be able to work independently as well as on a team and produce results within agreed upon timelines. This position will require work outside of normal business hours to support users across a multistate region and not impact business operations.

Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science, with three to five years experience in system integration, network administration, and database administration.

Experience with SQL and Access preferred.

Experience in a construction/distribution environment helpful.
