Corporate Cafe Line Cook
M-F, 7a-3p. Weekends off. 40-hour work weeks.
Gaia Cafe is looking for a qualified Line Cook to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a corporate cafe during traditional business hours serving a consistent customer base on a daily basis.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive and Sous Chefs in the daily operations of the kitchen, including cooking and preparing all menu items in accordance to standards set by the Chef.
Produce high quality dishes that follow the established menu and to location’s standards through cutting, precooking and marinating of ingredients.
Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen during working hours.
Make sure the hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation- from ingredients to the finished dish.
Make sure that the professional equipment is in good working condition and provide early warning of any malfunction before possible impact on the staff or the clients.
Ability to lift 30-40 pounds and be on your feet for a few hours at a time
Strong work ethics, which include a commitment to timeliness and attendance
Experience with short-order cookery and face-to-face customer service
Additional Job Functions:
Assist in other areas as needed.
Adhere to weekly/monthly cleaning schedules as posted by management.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
Previous Line Cook experience, at least 2-3 years of direct or food-related experience.
Requires an understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations.
Must have Servsafe Certification.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
