POSITION SUMMARY

This Security Officer job patrols an assigned route on company owned vehicle, (often accompanied by a thorough foot patrol of properties), providing for the security and safety of client property, assets, staff and personnel. This Security Officer also investigates disturbances and acts lawfully when defending employees and property.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Essential function(s)

Act as a crime deterrent while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Patrolling and monitoring activities on the client’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure

Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure work environment.

Notify supervisors and on-site staff of any irregularities, suspicious activities, security breaches and/or safety hazards.

Conduct standardized reports that are prompt, detailed, professional and accurate relative to incident.

Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.

Must embody and promote company values while operating as a highly visible deterrent on site.

Perform various job related duties as assigned.

Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.

Submit thorough vehicle inspection reports

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Must have knowledge of security protocols

Must be 18 years of age or older (preferably 25 years of age or older, per vehicle insurance policy)

Must possess a clean driving record and valid driver’s license

Must possess a valid Security Guard License

Must have successfully completed all stated mandated training (40 Hours/AB2880)

Preferably have minimum 1 year of experience in security

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must project a professional appearance

Must have a reliable form of transportation

WORK SCHEDULE

As a non-exempt hourly employee, the employee shall work a designated schedule as assigned by management. Scheduling is subject to change at any given notice. The hours worked vary and can include graveyard shifts. Working on weekends and holidays is required for this position. Employee shall not work over 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week without prior authorization from management but if so, will earn overtime for any work performed in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Employee must also follow company’s policies regarding required meal breaks.
