Shipping & Receiving Manager at Biotech

We are an established San Diego-based biotech company that provides cell cultures and research tools to life science researchers worldwide. These researchers use our products to deepen science’s understanding of disease, discover drugs, and empower important medical breakthroughs.

The Shipping & Receiving Manager serves as an essential member of our team, delivering our products and related documents to researchers on time and in good condition. We are looking for a reliable, professional, self-motivated candidate to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

Retrieve cryovials from liquid nitrogen tanks, media & reagents from cold storage based on Shipping Lists.

Prepare shipping packages: cryovials in dry ice, media in blue ice.

Retrieve product instructions, certificate, and other documents to be included with shipments.

Generate domestic/international FedEx and other courier shipping air waybills.

Manage inventory of shipping materials, including boxes, dry ice, blue ice, liquid nitrogen, etc. Place orders when necessary.

Monitor liquid nitrogen levels, and fill tanks as needed.

Email/phone with USDA, customs, couriers, distributors, and customers to ensure package delivery

All other activities to ensure on-time delivery.

Update logistics protocols.

Support front office staff, such as answering calls and emails when they are on break.

Various office/laboratory maintenance chores.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Multitasker, organized, high integrity

Experience with FedEx software and website

Computer competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Windows operating system

Must be able to lift items of 50 lbs with ease

Handiness with tools
