Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Escondido)

Compensation: depending on experience

We are a large sheet metal fabrication business located in Escondido, CA. We currently have one position open in our Shipping & Receiving Department. This position is a contract-to-hire position. We will train if no experience.

Shift: 6:00 am-2:30 pm, Monday through Friday (though may be asked to work overtime and Saturday)

Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the flow, organization, and cleanliness of material and departments throughout the facility and aids in our shipping/receiving departments. Forklift experience is preferred.

Must have a clean driving record, it will be confirmed with DMV for insurability.

Essential Job Functions

Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, respiratory equipment, steel toed shoes and/or other appropriate protective clothing

Work well with others with strong teamwork skills

Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead frequently

Stand and/or walk for at least 8 hours per day

Safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs. frequently

Work in an outdoor (non-air conditioned) industrial shop environment

Obtain a license to operate forklift (6000#, and/or 15000#, and/or 25000#)

Safely utilize hand tools, drills, taps, rivet gun, saws-all, pneumatic nailer, etc.

Maintain equipment in good running condition. Perform all routine calibration and maintenance as required

Competent in basic shop math and reading/writing in English

May be required to drive company vehicle for local deliveries/pick-ups.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

1-3 years of experience in the field and/or related area

Drivers will be required to submit and pass substance test at periodic random intervals.

Drivers must have a valid CA driver's license to be insured by company.
