job summary:Our client is looking for a Senior Java Developer to help upgrade old Java applications to a newer Java technology. There might be some old applications that will get rewritten entirely in .NET. Some C# experience would be ideal. Must have experience in Apache Struts 1.3, will be moving to Struts 6. Experienced with the MVC architecture and how Struts implements it. This is a long term contract position and will sit 100% remotely. - Upgrade old Java applications to newer Java technology
- Apache Struts 1.3 and Apache Struts 6 experience
- Knowledge of Java and J2EE technologies, such as servlets, JSPs, JavaBeans, etc.
- Familiarity with the MVC architecture and how Struts implements it
- Ability to use Struts plugins to support REST, AJAX and JSON2
- Experience with developing enterprise-ready Java web applications using Struts
- Understanding of Struts configuration files, such as struts.xml
- Awareness of Struts best practices and common pitfalls
- Experience with both SQL Server and Oracle databases
- Extensive background in Java.
- Skilled in using NetBeans IDE
- Able to work independently
