We are seeking a talented and innovative Research & Development Chef to join our culinary team. As an R&D Chef, you will play a pivotal role in driving culinary innovation, creating exciting new dishes, and enhancing the overall dining experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

Conceptualize and develop new recipes, dishes, and food products that align with our culinary vision and target market.

Conduct research and experimentation with ingredients, flavors, cooking techniques, and presentations to innovate and improve upon existing menu items or to create entirely new ones.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including executive chefs, sous chefs, and management, to brainstorm ideas, refine concepts, and plan product development initiatives.

Lead recipe development efforts by creating and testing recipes, considering factors such as taste, texture, appearance, and nutritional value.

Conduct taste tests, sensory evaluations, and nutritional analysis to ensure that all recipes meet quality and consistency standards.

Contribute to menu planning by suggesting new dishes, revamping existing ones, and developing seasonal specials to keep menus fresh and exciting.

Manage the R&D kitchen, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

Stay abreast of culinary trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings through market research and industry analysis.

Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, recipe execution, and food safety practices associated with new menu items or product launches.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and procurement, to coordinate product development efforts and ensure successful implementation of new recipes or menu changes.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a fine dining restaurant, catering company, or food manufacturing environment.

Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution.

Strong culinary skills and creative flair, with a passion for experimenting with flavors, ingredients, and presentations.

Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, food science principles, and recipe development processes.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Detail-oriented approach, with a focus on quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and recipe management software is preferred.
