Position: NOC EngineerTerm: 12-months with a probability of extensionLocation: San Diego, CA (not remote)Description: The NOC Engineer will drive the implementation of a Network Operations Center in support of the Company’s Cloud Service operations. The NOC Engineer’s contributions will include:
- Preparation of operational runbooks
- Implementation and configuration of the monitoring infrastructure
- Documentation of the ticketing process from alert capture, to alert triage, to runbook processing, through escalation, to ticket resolution
- Design incident reporting, both operational reporting and management reporting
- Participate in the selection of a ticketing tool and the implementation of the selected tool
- Document the interaction between the Cloud Service Operations team and the Cloud Service Engineering team
- Define the infrastructure taxonomy to be implemented into the selected incident management system
- Document the bug-tracking process and the engineering change management process
- 3+ years’ experience working in a NOC environment
- Must have proficiency with the Linux command line
- Experience with network monitoring tools: Prometheus preferred, otherwise Nagios
- Experience with the ELK stack: ElasticSearch / Logstash / Kibana
- Must have exceptional communication skills
- Must be process-oriented
- Must have excellent organizational skills
