The Microbiology Lab Tech position is a full-time temp to hire position in Santa Maria, CA. The schedule is Tuesday-Saturday with hours from 3pm to midnight or similar. Any candidate must have open availability to include nights and weekends. Pay rate for this position is $18 to $20 an hour (DOE).

Must be 21 to drive company car
Duties & Responsibilities:
Process incoming samples
Accurately record detailed data
Perform Quality Assurance (QA) checks of the lab
Use of lab equipment (e.g. scales, autoclaves)
Clean glassware, laboratory areas, and utensils
Media preparation
Perform pipetting and serial dilutions
Retrieve samples from various locations, as needed
All other duties assigned by management
Skills & Qualifications
Laboratory skills or aseptic techniques a plus
Strong math skills a plus
Good verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office
Clean DMV record
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Science background or professional skills a plus
Ability to multitask
Excellent work ethic, self-motivated
Detail oriented/focused
Excellent organizational skills
Quick to learn
Ability to lift 35 pounds
