Lead Art Event Judge

Vacancy expired!

Art event creation / promotion company seeks a qualified Lead Art Judge for each of the art competition events we organize and promote, typically at least five or more competitions annually in different locales. The Lead Art Judge will be tasked with recruiting two other established and respected art professionals from the general geographic area of each particular art event we produce to serve as the jury panel for that event. They will work with the Lead Art Judge in reviewing the artworks submitted for the particular competition and in selecting the winning artwork(s). This is a part-time, as needed, role. We anticipate that the Lead Art Judge we select will continue to be engaged in his or her full-time professional work in the art world. The judging work will be performed remotely by viewing digital photos of the artworks on our company website that we have verified as accurate depictions of each of the competing artworks.

Qualified candidates should preferably have at least a master’s degree in art from a respected university program and at least ten years verifiable experience working in a relevant professional role with a recognized public art institution or in a similar role in academia, as well as having experience producing their own artwork for a similar period of time. Interested and qualified candidates should submit their curriculum vitae to be considered for this part-time role. The Lead Art Judge we select will be engaged as an independent contractor.

Compensation will be hourly and is negotiable. Hours devoted to discrete tasks required to perform the role will be within guidelines we agree upon.
