Kitchen & Warehouse Assistant

The CPG Incubator is a collective of packaged food entrepreneurs from the Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties that is helping bring the next big packaged food ideas to life by providing the resources needed for them to grow and scale their brands. Located in Ventura, the CPG Incubator Ventura Hub is an organic certified kitchen and warehouse where brands collaborate, share ideas, make products, and fulfill orders.

We are in need of an ambitious and driven Kitchen & Warehouse Assistant to help lead day-to-day manufacturing and shipping for several of the incubator’s brands. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast pace environment and is capable of taking direction from several leaders within the incubator to help provide high quality finished products, timely shipping, and outstanding service for the incubator’s community.

We are looking for someone to become a key member of a tight knit and quickly growing community. The ideal candidate will be looking to expand their responsibilities and take advantage of new opportunities as the community continues to grow.

Responsibilities will include:

Production & Kitchen Maintenance

- Run Production For One of the Incubator’s Brands

o Operate production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines

o Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met

o Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance

o Follow sanitation and food safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment

o Adhere to CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations and guidelines

o Assist in the fabrication, packaging, and labeling of food products

o Conduct quality control checks to identify any defects or deviations from specifications

o Maintain accurate production records and documentation

o Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines

Shipping & Warehouse

- Order preparation, picking, and packing:

o Assisting with the fulfillment of online orders for multiple brands by picking products according to the order form and organizing the customer’s package for shipping.

- Shipment receiving and recording:

o Coordinating with drivers of incoming shipments to offload products and check them into the CPG Incubator warehouse

o Updating the receiving logs with necessary information

o Organizing and filing the required documents for quality control and certification compliance

o Organize, prepare, coordinate, and ship large pallet sized orders

- Day-to-Day Warehouse Projects & Tasks:

o Executing ad hoc kitchen tasks, e.g., cleaning, organizing, updating logs, etc

o Assisting with monthly inventory counts

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Wage: $17 - $22 per hour based on experience and determined upon entry

Requirements

Schedule: 20-35 Hours/Week. Must be available to work 4-8 hour shifts Friday-Tuesday

- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for operating production machinery and heavy equipment preferred

- Familiarity with food safety regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical

Control Point) principles

- Experience in the food industry or related field is preferred

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision

- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately

- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients, calculating quantities, etc.

- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects as

required

-Warehouse experience desired, but not required.

-Must be able to get to facility in Ventura.

-Forklift experience preferred but not required. We will invest in training and certifying for the right person if necessary.
