The City of Modesto is currently recruiting for a Fleet Procurement Technician to join our team. The Fleet Procurement Technician is responsible for purchasing parts and equipment needed to support the City's fleet operations and to maintain a sufficient and appropriate parts inventory to ensure efficient equipment maintenance and repair.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Training Guidelines:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:

Two years of increasingly responsible experience in automotive parts-related work involving the selection, purchasing, storing, and issuing of a variety of fleet equipment materials and supplies.

Training:

Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in automotive technology, business administration, public administration, or a related field. A Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certificate issued by the Institute for Supply Management may substitute for the required education.

License or Certificate:

Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license.

Possession of an Automotive Parts Specialist Certification issued by Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) is required within two (2) years of appointment.

Failure to obtain any of the required licenses/certificates within the prescribed time will result in release from probation.
