ABOUT THE POSITION:

As Events and Marketing Manager for Hospice of Santa Barbara, Inc., you will help Hospice of Santa Barbara achieve our fundraising goals and communicate our impact to the community. In this full-time role, you will use your event production skills, relationship management experience, and your communications knowledge to help advance the organization and our services. You will also partner with all members of our dynamic development team.

In this role, you will coordinate all aspects of our fundraising events. You will have the opportunity to build and cultivate donor relationships, work with teams of volunteers, and orchestrate effective donor communications. Developing donor relationships for our organization takes more than just time, it takes someone who embraces our mission and uses that understanding to not only engage our donors in ways that move them to give financially but also to convey a deep gratitude for their gifts. Help plan, organize, coordinate, promote, and facilitate special events including fundraising, stewardship, and social events including Heroes of Hospice, Light Up A Life, and The Light Shines Ahead

Work with volunteer event committees to help achieve event goals

Prepare and execute project plans and event calendars for each event

Schedule and maintain communication with speakers, vendors, and participants

Oversee event budgets and track results

Assist with virtual community education events

Assist in preparing a variety of publications, materials, and programs for eventsMarketing, Communications, and Annual Appeals

Gather program and marketing information and content for HSB’s marketing consultants for print, advertising, social media, and public relations campaigns

Manage calendars to coordinate marketing & public relations communications with development activities and communications

Help ensure consistent messaging in line with current organizational goals and strategies

Assist WaveComm in the preparation and sending out of newsletters and donor communications

Coordinate the design, printing and distribution of marketing and communication materials including graphic design needs

Work with printers/mail houses for a variety of projectsGeneral Development and administrative duties

Provide administrative support for Director of Strategic Advancement as needed

Build friendly relationships with a variety of donors/prospects/volunteers

Provide input to Development calendars for various fundraising activities to ensure strategic plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner

Maintain appropriate electronic and paper files

Help identify and develop a variety of prospects for the organization's fundraising priorities

Prepare a variety of financial and marketing reports related to development including events

Works with other development projects as specified by the Director of Strategic Advancement

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in a professional setting

Communications/Marketing experience a plus.

Quick learner, no hesitation in asking questions

Comfortable with and tactful in soliciting support and donations

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to use persuasive communication to accomplish goals.

Good at multi-tasking and handling multiple deadline-driven priorities in a dynamic team setting

Self-starter - takes initiative, likes to problem-solve, thinks critically about the task at hand, wants to be a contributor

Friendly, sincere interest and enthusiasm for all-things fundraising and building relationships with people!

Ability to work in office and in a variety of meeting settings in the community

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows programs
