Caregiver needed

Hello, my name is Mary. I’m a young woman with cerebral palsy looking to hire reliable and dependable Personal Care Attendants. No experience necessary, I will provide training. Due to the personal nature of the job I prefer to hire women and trans/nonbinary folks but would be willing to interview the right cis-male applicant.

Available Shifts:

Monday-Friday: 8am to 3pm

Pay: $30/hr, must be able to pass a background check.

Examples of tasks I need assistance with include cooking meals, bathing/toileting/dressing, light cleaning, pet care (I have two adorable cats!), transporting me in my wheelchair accessible van, and grocery shopping. Lifting is required for this job, I am unable to stand or transfer independently. Applicants must be able to perform safe pivot transfers with adults weighing up to 145 pounds.

While there is some flexibility in this job, I am unable to work with people who are unreliable. I depend on my PCA's to assist me tasks that are vital to my basic safety and wellbeing, such as getting out of bed and using the restroom. If my PCA’s do not consistently commit to working I can be left without necessary support. This job does take place in the relaxed space of my home, but I expect the same level of professionalism and dependability as required of any job.

A little about meI grew up in the Sacramento area, have a knack for finding adventure (or misadventure as the case may be) in the most mundane instances, and work at a tech company to pay the bills. I enjoy romance novels, whitewater rafting, sappy movies, and science fiction.
