Leading manufacturer of air quality and radiation monitoring equipment has an immediate opening for a Calibration Technician to join their team!
This is a full-time, on-site, Calibration Lab Technician position located at our facility in San Diego, CA (off Miramar Road). The Calibration Technician is responsible for calibrating both new and used customer air sampling equipment. The Calibration Technician must be capable of working with hand tools, performing basic calibration calculations, and diligently documenting all calibration data per Company established procedures. The Calibration Technician is sometimes required to troubleshoot and repair customer’s inoperable equipment. This role requires working with and around both low (12-Volt, 24-Volt) and high (230-Volt) voltage electrical systems in an ISO 17025:2017 Certified environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred
Two or more years of experience in the calibration or repair of scientific equipment preferred
Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
Must be PC literate: Must be capable of entering data into MS Excel and Word spread sheets and saving documents to pre-specified folders.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Familiarity with basic electronic wiring
Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
Ability to work with hand tools and perform basic tasks with screwdrivers and/or pliers etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually
Skills needed:
1. Basic Algebra, command of the English language (read, write & speak), familiarity (or quick learn) with everyday computer programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and pdf software packages. Ability to scan, print and save documents to pre-determined dedicated file locations.
2. Use of standard tools: Screwdriver, wrench, pliers, electric drill and other light-duty power tools.
3. Ability to read calibration and assembly instruction manuals written in English.
4. Willingness to be a team player and assist in other areas of the company (i.e.: light assembly work) when time allows.
Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with overtime as needed
