Bookkeeper/ Tax Preparer

Express Employment Professionals is looking for Bookkeeping/ Tax Preparing candidates to provide support to a financial planning firm in San Diego County!

Description:

Our client is a growing financial planning firm that offers tax planning/preparation, estate planning, and investment planning services to their clients. They prepare close to 700+ tax returns (mixture of personal and business) so someone with a pleasant office demeanor with the ability to work in a busy environment is key! In this position, you provide support to the Bookkeeping department as well as the Tax Preparers during tax season. Daily duties include downloading and categorizing bank transactions, sending monthly financials to clients, entering payroll as needed, and complete sales tax reporting.

Requirements:

- 1+ year of tax preparation experience

- 3+ years of accounting/ bookkeeping experience

- CTEC/EA/CPA

- Have prepared tax returns for the past 3 seasons

- Individual taxes is a must

- Business taxes are a plus!

- Proficient in Excel and QuickBooks

- Drake software is a plus

- Knowledge of sales tax reporting

- Must understand financial reporting (P&L and Balance Sheet)

- Excellent organizational and communication skills

- Must be able to pass full background check

Certifications:

-PTIN Certification

-CTEC Certification

-Bachelor’s degree is a plus

Schedule: Monday – Friday part time hours at first (20-25 hrs.). Will convert to full time eventually.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $46.00/hr. (DOE)
