Job DetailsThe Key Account Manager is responsible for building strong relationships with key customers for the commercial and/or defense markets while understanding customer needs and driving growth. We are seeking someone focused on results and accountability. A technical background is helpful but must be accompanied by strong communication and customer support skills.Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple accounts and develop positive working relationships with all customer touchpoints
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
  • Act as the main Sales point of contact for customers and as the customer advocate internally
  • Drive customer retention, upsells, and overall satisfaction
  • Provide demand input and support building of consensus demand during Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process
  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by proposing solutions that meet their objectives
  • Responsible for maintaining and negotiating long-term agreements with key customers
  • Review and approve quotes for accuracy, competitiveness as well as margin expansion
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 8+ years of progressive Sales and/or Program Management experience in the manufacturing or product for the aerospace or defense industries.
  • Strong sales/negotiation skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.
  • Practical, working knowledge of motor systems, i.e. check/relief/solenoid /hand/motor-operated valves, gauges, hydraulic actuators or fractional DC brush or brushless motors/gearmotors is a plus.
  • Understanding of domestic and international military/commercial procurement processes
  • Knowledge of DoD contractual terms, conditions, and requirements.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Education
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Sales and Marketing, or other related areas.
  • PMI PMP certification is a plus
