Job DetailsAn amazing opportunity for a collaborative Project Engineer. This position will work in collaboration with our Senior Traffic Engineers/Project Managers to provide outstanding service to clients in Arizona, Texas and Washington. This position will support a variety of transportation and transit planning projects, as well as contribute to projects being led by the traffic studies and engineering design groups in the firm. This position will also work collaboratively to strategize and develop tools and systems to streamline work production and ensure consistency between offices.The ideal candidate will bring a broad range of traffic engineering skills, an understanding of technical skills required for preparing traffic studies and design elements, and experience working on a variety of diverse projects simultaneously. This person must be highly collaborative as they will work with several project managers and may be responsible for cross training team members from other business units. We are looking for professionals experienced in traffic design, traffic studies or both.Studies Task and Experience Requirements for Position:Demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.Ability to create, modify, and review traffic models using a variety of traffic operations and modeling software.Experience in collecting traffic data and training inexperienced staff to assist.Ability and demonstrated proficiency in preparing technical memorandums and reports for clients.Experience in Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) reports and Traffic Impact Statements (TIS)Shared Parking Study calculations and report writing.Experience with signal warrant, stop warrant, and other MUTCD analyses.Experience preparing technical reports which include Traffic Management Plans, traffic elements to Design Concept Reports, and Project Assessments.Research traffic analysis and traffic operations for City, State, and County officials.Ability to participate in transportation planning assignments, corridor studies, safety studies, and access revision request reports.Prepare public and private presentations with strong written/oral skills.Perform traffic engineering calculations, sketches and visual drawings.Participate in cost development, management and scheduling for assigned projects.Proficient communicator with project Team Members, Agencies, and Clients both inside and outside the office.Provide technical direction and mentoring to less experienced engineering personnel.Work both independently and in a group, setting depending on project needs/workload.Design Task and Experience Requirements for Position:Experience in developing Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) packages based upon agency standards.Experience in developing traffic signal, enhanced pedestrian crossing, intelligent transportation systems, roadway lighting, signing and marking, and maintenance of traffic design.Experience in developing roadway, drainage, and storm water design.Experience in performing photometric analyses using Agi32 or Visual.Experience in developing and preparing voltage drop calculations and applying to lighting design.Perform traffic engineering calculations, sketches and visual drawings.Participate in cost development, management and scheduling for assigned projects.Proficient communicator with project Team Members, Agencies, and Clients both inside and outside the office.Provide technical direction and mentoring to less experienced engineering personnel.Work both independently and in a group, setting depending on project needs/workload.Preferred Experience to Perform the Work Includes:Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration in Arizona, California, Idaho, Washington, or Texas OR ability to obtain reciprocity within 6-months of hire.5-10 years of experience working on traffic engineering related projects.Knowledge and ability to use Traffix, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS software proficiently.Knowledge and experience with TransCAD or VISUM is preferred.Knowledge and experience with Sidra and Rodel for roundabout analyses is preferred.Knowledge and ability to use AutoCAD and MicroStation proficiently.Knowledge and experience with Civil 3D and OpenRoads is preferred.Knowledge and experience with Bluebeam is preferred.Knowledge and experience with VISSIM is desirable.Knowledge and experience with SignCAD and ParkCAD is desirable.Knowledge and experience with Agi32 or Visual is desirable.Experience in preparing Public and Private proposals is desirable.Previous work experience with ADOT, TxDOT, WSDOT, ITD and local municipalities is desirable.CivTech offers all full-time employees a robust rewards package which includes:Interested in hearing more?
