Product Design Mechanical Engineer

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in hardware electronics design and embedded systems. Ideally they will have an emphasis working in consumer electronics or automotive industries as this person will be working in a small, skilled engineering team building technology that is implemented into consumer and automotive products. • Develop and design products assembly, special tooling and fixtures
• Help build conceptual design, detailed design, CAD modeling and prototyping
• Design analysis including theoretical calculations for component fit, tolerance analysis and stress calculations
• Assist with the procurement of commercial off-the-shelf components
• Write protocols, tests methods and presentations related to design activities
• Develop, execute, and document assignments working independently or as a team
• Meet committed delivery timelines and project goals

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, similar technical field or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience
• Demonstrable experience with using SolidWorks, integrating electrical assemblies, and in plastic injection molding
• Knowledge in the design of plastic injection molded part designs, electro-mechanical integration, adhesive bonded joints, metal stamped part designs, die-cast part designs, or machined part designs
• Strong understanding of the Design for Assembly (DfA) & Design for Manufacturing processes (DfM)
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work cross functionally with in-person and remote based employees
• Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Experience working with products in the consumer market and electronics industry
• Experience working within a fast pace startup environment
• DfM & DfA experience specifically in high-end consumer electronics
