Title: Desktop Support TechnicianLocation: Phoenix, AZ As a Desktop Support Technician, you will maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, document, and repair desktop systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. You will support and maintain incident tickets keeping users, management, peers, and the Help Desk apprised of activities. Some travel to work on devices may be required. Your role:
- Assure quality customer service to all users; promote positive human relationships and contribute to a supportive and cooperative work environment.
- Handle ticketing system assisting both internal and external users.
- Maintain desktop hardware and peripheral inventory with attention to detail when maintaining asset records.
- Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for all desktops platforms, software integration, Windows technologies, directory services, mobility operations (ie. IOS and Android platforms) and management consoles.
- Collaborate with colleagues and the Network team to support user account information including rights, security, and systems groups.
- Pursue additional research as needed to ensure optimal desktop strategies are practiced.
- Evaluate products and clearly document findings in detail.
- Utilize core build engineering using tools such as WDS, SCCM, software, and driver integration.
- Assure optimal hardware configuration for compatibility and performance (e.g. BIOS, Hyperthreading, etc.)
- Provide consultation to IS department for projects as needed, including testing new software and building/modifying PC hardware and software.
- Provide guidance to Service Desk team members.
- Participate in after-hours on-call support and weekend/holiday coverage responsibilities.
- Associate’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Strong experience with desktop support, Office365, AD, and Exchange is required.
- 3-5+ years of experience in a large corporate multi-site environment.
- 3+ years of experience developing and deploying unattended operating system installations for workstations/desktops/laptops with an in-depth understanding of hardware-independent imaging capabilities.
- 3+ years of scripting experience utilizing a variety of languages such as VB Script, PowerShell, WinBatch, and/or other programming languages.
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and enhancing desktop security and configuration management through Group Policy Objects (GPO) as well as the ability to create custom policies.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical users.
- A+ or Network + or MCP certification.
- Experience with InTune and SCCM preferred.
- MCDST and/or ITIL certification preferred.
- VoIP experience is a plus.
