Come join the team serving the elders of Sitka at the Swan Lake Senior Center! We are currently hiring for three positions:

DISPATCHER - 37.5 hours/week, $19/hour.

The Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling rides, communicating schedule changes to drivers, inputting passenger and ride information into a database, and filling in as driver as needed. This person will also act as the Substitute Site Manager when the Site Manager is gone.

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age, have an Alaska driver’s license and a good driving record for the past 18 months with no DUI or reckless driving for the past three years. Experience working with senior citizens and/or persons with disabilities is preferred. Experience with routine vehicle maintenance is desirable. Background check and pre-employment/random drug tests required.

COOK- 20 hours/week, $18/hour.

Duties include: relating to staff, participants and volunteers in a positive manner; supervising and training kitchen staff; ordering food and supplies; preparing meals according to senior nutrition program guidelines; and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen according to Alaska food service regulations.

Qualifications

Background check required. Prior professional or industrial kitchen experience required, we will train on program specifics. Must obtain State Food Worker's Card within 10 days of hire.

DRIVER - 20 hours/week, $18/hour.

Position requires safe and legal driving of CCS vehicles, providing door-to-door escorts to clients, assisting passengers using wheelchairs, supporting clients that may have cognitive impairments, maintaining safety and cleanliness of vehicle, recording rides, mileage, and transportation records, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have an Alaska driver’s license and a good driving record for the past 18 months and no DUI or reckless driving for the past three years. Experience with senior citizens and/or persons with disabilities are preferred. Experience with routine vehicle maintenance is desirable. Background check and drug testing required. CDL is not required.
