Staff Accountant - Catholic Community Service

This position is eligible to be a remote position if living in the state of Alaska.
The Staff Accountant will join the CCS finance team in providing agency wide support to staff and programs. Duties for the position include:
General Accounting duties
Grants Management
Accounting Department Back-up
Manage in-kind donations
Oversee Asset Inventory
Accounting Records Management
Other duties as assigned

Incumbent must have knowledge of principles of accounting. Knowledge of philosophy and role of CCS’s mission. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work; should be able to initiate and follow through on projects with a minimal amount of supervision; to convey information, orally and in writing, to a variety of individuals in simple, understandable and precise terms, to operate basic word processing and spreadsheet software; and to maintain accounting records according to GAAP.
Knowledge of general, fund and non-profit accounting theories, principles, methods, practices and terminology. Working knowledge of application of data process, computer technology and terminology as applied to financial control and accounting systems.
Skill in the operation of accounting, spread sheet, and word-processing software.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree from a college or university with a major in accounting and two years of professional accounting and office management experience is preferred. Work experience in the accounting field may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Background check required.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is a full-time, 37.5 hours/week. Starting wage $30/hour DOE.
