Job Title: Information Technology Director

What We Are Seeking: The IT Director is responsible for System/Enterprise Networking Administration planning, development, and maintenance; security protection protocols implementation; making hardware and software purchasing and upgrade recommendations, and computer troubleshooting for all CVTC campuses. The IT Director must be familiar with Linux and Windows Servers and OS, iOS, active directory, and Microsoft solutions. The IT Director interfaces with all CVTC Departments and vendors/ consultants to resolve IT networked and mobile management phone issues. The IT Director ensures conformance with information systems’ best practices, specific funder requirements, HIPPA/CFR 42 and other legal requirements, and upholding CVTC policies and procedures. The IT Director provides training and/or individual assistance to all users. The IT Director provides direct supervision and training to the IT Support Specialist. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week salary position with benefits.

Additional Responsibilities: Must have experience with GIS implementation and use and experience with website development and maintenance.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer science) supplemented with additional formalized training/education certifications.

Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in computer sciences/system administration.

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills; including the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, and multi-level of external contacts.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.

Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Superb time management skills to ensure scheduled activities are followed.

Proficient with Microsoft 365 Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), database software, and general office equipment with the willingness to learn new systems.

Certificates and Licenses Required: A valid Alaska Driver’s license is required for this position and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy.

Background Check: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check as a condition of employment.
