Assistant Site Manager - Juneau Senior Center
The Juneau Senior Center is looking for a dedicated employee to serve as the Assistant Site Manager to oversee the Meals on Wheels program, as well as assist with reporting and manage senior center when the Site Manager is on leave. Primary job duties include recruiting, training, and retaining Meals on Wheels volunteers, managing weekly and monthly Meals on Wheels reports, and communicating client changes to the Site Manager. When the Site Manager is gone, this position will also manage the facility and oversee staff and operations until the Site Manager returns.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use Microsoft Excel and word processing effectively. Have knowledge of volunteer management. Previous experience working with volunteers; organizing workload, time, and files. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language; follow verbal or written instructions; supervise volunteer staff with positive support and clear direction; problem solving and working with existing resources; maintain client confidentiality; be courteous; receptive to suggestions from seniors; be sensitive to seniors and persons with disabilities; maintain composure under stress; ability to prioritize workload, manage time effectively and meet specific deadlines; establish realistic and achievable goals; keep accurate records; work independently as well as cooperatively with other staff; work cooperatively with family members and community service agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in human services, public relations, teaching, or related field preferred or related experience. Experience may substituted be in lieu of a degree. Must have access to transportation, a clean driving record and be able to provide proof of auto insurance. Mileage will be reimbursed for business use of own vehicle.
This position is part time, 20 hours/week, 9am-2pm Monday through Thursday. Starting wage $23/hour.
