Weidner Apartment Homes is now hiring for an Apartment Maintenance Technician! If you have experience working in building maintenance, enjoy helping others and are looking to work for a company with strong stability look no further we have the job for you! This position will work Monday-Friday and be part of an on-call rotation.

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you are a multi-faceted maintenance professional providing quality service in a timely manner to our residents and community. This role is responsible for conducting efficient daily maintenance tasks while increasing the asset value and integrity of the community.

A successful Apartment Maintenance Technician is able to manage their time effectively, is detail oriented, a team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position needs to be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, associates and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare apartments for occupancy including but not limited to: painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs

Perform required building and preventative maintenance

Perform service requests for residents in a timely manner

Clean pools as directed, monitor chemical balance, maintain logs as required by city ordinances, when applicable

Must take part in the on-call rotation, as scheduled

Ensure market ready apartments, common areas and amenities are clean and maintained daily to Weidner’s quality standards

Monitor supplies and maintain equipment

Ensure maintenance shop/custodial area is clean, organized, and professionally presentable at all times

Regular and effective communication with Community Director/Service Manager/Maintenance Supervisor

Inspect, respond to, and follow up with safety issues, accidents, liabilities and emergency situations immediately

Qualifications:

1-2 years maintenance experience required, HVAC, CPO, EPA certification desired

Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems

Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds, climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time

Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds

Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong motivation to learn & contribute on a daily basis

Working knowledge of English; detail oriented, well organized

Must agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing

US driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired at all times
