Job DetailsThe Desktop Support Technician will perform activities involved in the maintenance of information systems and telecommunications and network infrastructure. Ensure that support, efficiency and user satisfaction are maintained.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Uses Service Desk software to create tickets and document troubleshooting steps with an appropriate level of detail.
  • Ensures that all computing equipment is operational and functioning properly at all locations.
  • Maintains hardware and software standards through the proactive upgrades and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Maintains all IT related equipment inventory through service desk software.
  • Ensures that cabling standards are maintained throughout the organization and all communication rooms are organized, orderly, and free of clutter and debris.
  • Assists in the installation of network and server equipment.
  • Participates in implementation and testing of new hardware and software applications.
  • Assists in enforcement of policies to maintain security of the computing network and calls attention to actions that may violate these policies.
  • Assists in telephone system maintenance.
  • Provides training to end-users on hardware usage, network logins, and basic application usage.
  • Provides audiovisual support as required.
  • Assists in the maintenance of all video security systems.
  • Provides occasional support to the Helpdesk and resolves tickets assigned in Helpdesk software.
  • This position requires initiative and strict adherence to HIPAA and department policies and procedures. Problem resolution must be reached through careful evaluation, planning and implementation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 3 years supporting desktops with one year troubleshooting network related problems.
  • Experience adding/removing user accounts/mailboxes within Active Directory, installation and maintenance of Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Office Products, experience deploying client/server antivirus programs.
  • Knowledge of Telecommunication systems, Windows Server, Exchange Server, and desktop imaging software.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Desktop Pc's and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Must demonstrate a positive customer service attitude, possess logical troubleshooting skills, a self-starter able to work independently, and have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.
  • A+ Certification or industry equivalent preferred
