Detailed Job Description:DCF is looking for a Database Architect who excels in the database application support for data warehouses. This DCF Database Architect’s primary responsibility will be for the Oracle administration and support of our existing Data Warehouse and OLTP environments for our diverse application development sections. The DBA will collaborate with development architects, developers, and analysts to implement and validate changes to database schemas and support the Software Development Life Cycles for numerous applications. The DBA must have experience with Oracle Database management tools such as OEM, SQL Plus, and SQL developer.This role requires interaction with a cross-functional team. These teams may be comprised of people from other State Departments with various levels of Oracle knowledge and experience. The teams may include Technical Administrators or business professionals from program areas, infrastructure, application development, or 3rd party Vendors. The candidate will be responsible to ensure that solutions are planned, developed, deployed, and maintained in accordance with the Department of Children and Family’s security policies and business requirements. A strong communication with different stakeholders both verbally and written are necessary for success. Varieties of tasks are performed daily, including the database administration for SQL application databases and security assignments. Some knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server management tools such as Management Studio may be needed. This position does require a degree of creativity with some latitude provided to produce solutions where needed. Experience with enterprise class applications with mission critical functionality which contain sensitive and or regulatory information such as IRS Pub 1075 and PII is highly recommended. Experience with meeting government regulations on security, data encryption as defined by the regulations is recommended. Candidates that have knowledge in the use of TOAD, Erwin Model Mart, and the Informatica Source and Target management are a plus in considering the candidate for placement. Recommended skills, abilities, and certifications:PLSQL development skillsCertified as an Oracle DBA is preferred.BS in computer science or related engineering field(preferred) 8 more years DBA work experience (preferred)Rotating 24x7 on call will be required.

  • Please note the qualifications for this position per the contract:Designs and builds relational databases. Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data. Must be able to design, develop and manipulate database management systems, data warehouses and multidimensional databases. Requires a depth and breadth of database knowledge that will help with formal design of relational databases and provides insight into strategic data manipulation.Database Architect capabilities with 6 years of experience, independently designs and builds relational databases. Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
