Summary of Position:The API Test Engineer is responsible for testing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The API Test Engineer will be responsible for testing in both a lab and production environments.Essential Functions:Ensures Accountability Tech Savvy Communicates Effectively Values Differences Customer Focus Resourcefulness Drives Results Plans and Prioritizes Decision Quality Self-Development Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine, and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.Required Education and Experience:
- Execute manual API test cases using Postman
- Read and understand the API documentations like Swagger and derive test cases/scenarios to support functional/integration/E2E & Regression testing
- Own the design, development, and execution of test cases and test suites
- Tracks defects and helps troubleshoot errors
- Create, analyze, manage, and triage system or software defects
- Proficient use of Test Rail, JIRA, Confluence, Postman, and Salesforce for testing, test case management, creation, execution, and bug tracking
- Ensure reporting and testing meets established client processes and procedures
- Work in an Agile/SCRUM methodology
- Efficiently manage time, prioritize work, and multi-task across several project assignments
- Communicate and interact professionally with all levels of staff and management to coordinate project deliverables, deliver status reports, and facilitate meetings
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of test experience
- 2+ year experience in the design and development of test plans, test cases, and test suites
- Strong attention to detail, multi-tasker, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Exceptional reading comprehension skills
- Experience with SQL queries to validate API and DB data elements using pgAdmin
- Experience in using tools/applications like Test Rail, JIRA, Confluence, Postman, Salesforce
- Experience testing on a variety of web methods (GET, POST, DELETE, etc)
- Experience manual API testing
- Familiarity with using Postman
- Familiarity with REST API requests and responses
- Familiarity with Elastic search
- Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM methodology
- Splunk and UI/Web testing experience is a plus
