Network Engineer - Lynchburg, VA (on-site, permanent, full-time)
This is a on-site permanent, full-time position. US Citizenship, (with no dual citizenship), is required per Federal Government contract. Job Description/Duties:

- Ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services.
- Plan, design, and develop local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.
- Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
- Evaluate and recommend new products.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.
- Analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
- A Bachelors degree is required. Computer science or IT related degree is preferred.
- Must have six (6) years experience. Network experience is preferred.
- Cisco Certificated Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required.
- CCNP, CCDA/CCDP, CCSP certifications are preferred.
- Microsoft server related certification(s) are preferred.
- Enterprise class LAN, WAN, WLAN, design and implementation experience is required.
- Solid understanding of Data Center networking technology and a highly available architecture is required.
- Network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices knowledge is required.
- Network infrastructure security technologies and best practices, including, Router/Switch security, Firewall Management (ASA, Fortinet), protecting edge perimeter network devices, experience and understanding security logging for monitoring and incident response, and wired and wireless guest design knowledge is required.
- Excellent working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and network services, including Cisco switches, NEXUS switches, all ISR router platforms, ASA 55xx platforms, SDWAN, TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, STP, PBR, VRF, MLPS, SNMP, and related protocols is required. (VeloCloud SDWAN experience is a plus.)
- Network management, performance monitoring, network monitoring, inventory, and backup tool software experience is required.
- Enterprise class voice, video, and collaboration (Cisco CUCM, SIP and Webex) knowledge is required.
- Must have competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits, packet capturing, and protocol analysis experience.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws is required.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is a must.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required.
- Must have the ability to solve complex, high pressure issues in a fast paced environment.
- Must have a strong customer service orientation.
- Must be able to travel as needed (5% - 10%).
- Ability to [ass a government background investigation with a favorable determination.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship.
