The Windows Infrastructure Engineer position is a hands-on technical role focused on designing, optimizing, and securing the Windows and Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange and MS Teams. A candidate in this role makes data-driven decisions, looks toward automation to complete tasks, is detail oriented, and has strong customer service skills. Additionally, someone who is passionate about technology, loves solving problems, and enjoys pushing boundaries while maintaining standardization would be successful in this role. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, secure, and maintain Windows servers and services
  • Design and manage Windows Active Directory and Group Policies (GPO)
  • Builds systems and templates using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
  • Ensures systems are compliant with security standards and automates patching processes
  • Automates system management and operational processes
  • Design, configure and maintain Microsoft 365 messaging and collaboration environments including a Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, and hybrid Exchange environment.
  • Proactively monitors systems and maintains observability to detect trends and prevent issues before there is a business impact
  • Stays current with new technology and information security developments and techniques
Experience and Skills Required
  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent related work experience required
  • Eight or more years of experience in Information Technology with five+ years of experience in Infrastructure
  • Experience managing Windows Server 2022, Server 2019, or previous versions
  • Experience designing and operating Microsoft Active Directory on-prem and Azure AD deployment
  • Experience managing Windows CAs and certificates in an enterprise PKI deployment
  • Experience managing file sharing services such as DFS Namespaces, and DFS Replication, Isilon or NetApp experience a plus
  • Experience managing VMs within a VMware environment
  • Experience maintaining Exchange Online in a hybrid environment and SMTP email flow
  • Experience of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint administration
  • Experience with deploying and managing systems within a public cloud environment, Google Cloud Platform preferred
  • Knowledge of maintaining system backups for disaster recovery, specifically systems such as Avamar, NetBackup, or HYCU a plus
  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP preferably in an Infoblox deployment
  • Experience with the following:
  • Powershell, Bash, Python or similar scripting languages
  • Managing and deploying with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsets such as Ansible, Terraform, Packer, or other modern configuration management software such as Chef or Puppet
  • Load balancers and Edge Proxy software such as Citrix ADC, F5, Envoy/Ambassador or Traefik
  • Knowledge of working with a version control tools such as Git
  • Knowledge of docker and containerization concepts a plus
  • Knowledge of Hashicorp tools such as vault and consul a plus
  • Experience working in a 24/7 on-call environment and the flexibility to work additional and/or late hours based on business needs
