This rotational program will provide access to advance your knowledge and skills in high-profile roles within the ECDP program. You will start as a full-time User Experience (UX) Designer in Digital Technology. The ECDP program offers four rotational assignments in key areas of digital technology during the initial two years of employment, to help build your knowledge and career development. Position based out of Houston, TX DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bring user-centered design (UCD) process & User Experience (UX) methods to digital solutions from concept to launch
  • Develop the plan, oversee the process and give guidance to the teams that work with you
  • Lead effective client presentations that create excitement and demonstrate how the creative delivers on the strategy
  • Leverage knowledge of wider industry UX trends and relevant technology trends
  • As you move from concepts to more detailed designs, create low and high fidelity prototypes that allow you to collaborate and quickly iterate ideas with the project team and get designs in front of end-users for validation
  • Identify gaps between the current and the ideal user experience
  • Continuously challenge the effectiveness of design, recommending changes, as appropriate
  • An appreciation of commitment to safety leadership

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to generate research ideas
  • Bachelor degree or Masters/PhD in Electrical/Controls Engineering or equivalent, Computer Science or IT majors
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Experience in UX (User Experience) processes and User-Centered Design (UCD) approaches, including planning, designing and facilitating user sessions and client workshops, analyzing findings and articulating results
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle either in traditional waterfall or agile methodologies
  • Experience with Agile, Design Sprints, Experience Design and Design Thinking Methodology
  • Experience with at least 1 modern design, wire-framing or prototyping tool like Sketch, Figma, Canva or equivalent
  • Skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future
  • Ability to work in groups/teams, able to develop strong team relationships.
  • 1 to 3 years experience in actual software development projects as a UI/UX/UCD designer
  • Experience in working with front-end web development or other teams
  • Ability to suggest and implement design methods and processes
  • A clear passion and enthusiasm for learning and pursuing your expertise, constantly challenging the definition of what makes good user experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating your innovative work across multiple forums
  • Ability to inspire people and work in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
  • Autonomy- Level 1 (Work is closely supervised with limited discretion)
  • Problem Solving- Level 2 (Solves a variety of easy problems of limited scope and complexity; refers to policies and practices for guidance)
  • Business Acumen- Level 1 (Very limited understanding of how the business works in terms of strategic perspective, financial acumen and market orientation; errors do not have any effect on the organization)
  • Accountability- Level 1 (Effectively plans ahead to meet commitments, prioritizes time/workload effectively to deliver quality results and efficiently manages workload)
  • Leadership- Level 1 (Organizes and leads the team; ensures day-to-day activities are smoothly performed. If not acting in a leadership role, demonstrates leadership some qualities.)
  • Relevant certifications in design methodologies and tools
  • Experience Design or Design Thinking certifications

  • Occasional travel to rig yards and field
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and use hands.
