Client is unable to Sponsor @ this time Role: System Engineer Location: Dallas TX Duration: Full Time Perm Salary: Negotiable/Open for Right match Client: Financial/Capital Organization Job Description We are seeking an outstanding experienced Engineer with expertise in Linux infrastructure strategy and design, automation, and configuration management. This individual will be part of a team of talented and driven technology professionals that partner with the business to engineer and support a wide-array of resilient high-performance solutions. The infrastructure is comprised of a growing AWS Cloud deployment, high-density datacenters, 700+ servers (150+ Linux and growing), virtualization, tiered storage solutions, and the Microsoft infrastructure suite. Client's Information Technology team has a strong track record of managing an infrastructure utilizing best-in-class technology solutions, applying the latest relevant technologies and providing excellent customer service. Job Responsibilities Contribute to the evolving design and architecture of the infrastructure by determining business needs and delivering appropriate solutions Engineer secure, stable, and scalable solutions for HBK's growing Cloud and Linux infrastructure Facilitate the migration of Windows to Linux infrastructure Automate system build, maintenance and management processes using Terraform, Ansible, and other configuration management technologies Ensure the proper monitoring, defined state, logging, capacity planning, and reporting of systems Implement and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting complex issues Utilize effective project management standards to define requirements, implement, and document Required Skills 8+ years of Linux administration and engineering experience in an enterprise infrastructure (preferably RHEL/CentOS based) Knowledge of infrastructure fundamentals such as networking, authentication, file sharing and other core services Must have fluency in at least one scripting / coding language such as Shell, Python, Perl or similar Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general system management best practices Experience with containerization, configuration management, and orchestration tools A strong sense of ownership, drive, and urgency Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree in a related technical field Kubernetes and AWS EKS architecture and administration Cloud infrastructure experience (e.g., AWS, Azure or similar) Experience with automation and configuration management software (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or similar) Experience using distributed source code control such as Git eye
