We have been retained by our client in Dallas, Texas to deliver a Software Testing QA Lead on a regular full-time, direct-hire basis. Lead a team of dedicated and motivated QA software testers who work onsite five (5) days a week, and hybrid might occur later. Laser focus on overall QA manual software testing processes, including test plans, test cases, and Azure DevOps Test Cases. Software Testing QA Lead to initially lead three (3) manual software testers and help transform the QA team to work in the DevOps model, specifically the Azure DevOps/TFS model. One important and large task would be to move all the test cases from the existing test case manager write them into Azure Test Plans or Azure Test Cases or/ Azure DevOps Test Cases.This position allows you to take this QA department and grow it! Lead QA team and lead in manual software testing improvements of the test cases into Azure DevOps / TFS / Azure Test Cases and lead this QA teams transformation from manual testing to test automation after the first year.This is an opportunity for leadership and growth while managing and growing your team of talented and dedicated QA Software Testers.   • We seek a candidate with strong experience in manual QA/testing of software applications (windows or web) and test automation experience is preferred but not required. Experience with Azure DevOps (TFS) or JIRA is required. Azure DevOps Test Case experience required. Some supervision, leadership, or management experience is required. We seek a QA Manager candidate with the passion and desire to grow a team and lead in the transformation this QA dept to a DevOps model, of CI/CD, CT (continuous testing). Currently, builds and releases are manual. CI / CD is still in the planning stages, as is continuous testing.
  • Lead manual Software Testers, and lead them in the transformation of the QA and Testing department, by starting with the movement of all the test cases from the existing test case manager over to Azure Test Plans and Azure Test Cases or/ Azure DevOps Test Cases.
  • Experience working with Azure Test Plans, and Azure Test Cases required.
  • Supervision or leadership required.
  • It is a big plus if candidate moved Test Cases off of another test case management tool and wrote test cases into Azure DevOps/Test Cases.
  • Review business requirements and system design documents
  • Create systematic test plans, test cases and linked them to functional requirements
  • Identify and perform Positive and Negative test cases for each business requirements
  • Execute Test plans, Test Scenarios & Test Cases, captured actual results against expected results and logged system defects for failed test cases
  • Prepared traceability metrics using Azure DevOps
  • Developed logical QA Test plans for Functional, Regression and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Dissecting defects using Azure DevOps.
  • Work collaboratively with QA, development and business teams to complete comprehensive testing on major new releases
  • Demonstrate methodical, detail-oriented, and thorough approach to all assignments while adhering to compressed timelines
  • After all the test cases are completely moved over in Azure DevOps, in about one year, then it might be good to know that the Developer Tech stack is mostly: C#, WPF, XAML, SQL Server, C, Embedded, multi-threaded, Azure, Azure DevOps (TFS), Azure IoT, Azure functions.
  • The software engineers on the development teams are creating the software product features inside/around/for these hardware/software/machine products using IIoT, IoT, Operational Technology (OT), sensors, seeing eyes, motors, controllers, seeing-eyes, touch screens, etc. After 12+ months, the QA Manager will lead in the test automation methods and test automation tools decisions. The test automation can be done by the Automated Test Engineers this Software Testing QA Lead would hire later. No test tools or test suites have been decided upon, but tools such as C# Selenium or others are being discussed. Initially, this QA Team is performing completely manual software testing for the next year, at least. Test automation experience is not require, but is a plus. The keys to this role are strengths with Test Cases, and management of Test Cases in Azure DevOps, or Azure Test Cases, and manual software testing leadership.
  • This position is onsite in Dallas, whereupon working with hardware in the laboratory is needed, 5 days a week. Hybrid can come later, possibly. This can be discussed. This is onsite Dallas, Texas client office. Full time, direct hire, excellent benefits package! Hybrid might be an option later but QA Manager needs to be near the hardware in the laboratory to test software.
