Software Engineering Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in Houston, TX that is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join their Transformation Office in efforts to build an API Management Platform.Duties Include: Software Engineering Manager applies advanced subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established policies Manages non-exempt/exempt individual contributors and/or supervisors Has accountability for results of a major program in terms of cost, direction, and people management Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility As a Software Engineering Manager, you will plan, manage, and monitor operational/tactical activities of Staff Staff members' work may involve strategic issues Recruits and supports development of direct staff members Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors coordinating, managing, and leading teams to drive the engineering development and implementation of products and service offerings Manages people, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partnersREQUIREMENTS: Degree or equivalent experience required Knowledge on PMBOK (for project/program management). PMP/PMI certification is a plus 10 or more years of related work experience, including >5 years of people management experience Experienced working in Agile/SAFE Methodologies Experience working with API Management tools Experienced working in ADO Environments Career development of the team Identifying needs and hiring membersKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
